THE real coronavirus death toll in the UK is over 47,000, with 11,650 deaths in care homes.

The Office for National Statistics released their latest figures this morning and are a massive increase on the 36,914 deaths reported by the Department of Health on Monday night.

The stats come after Boris Johnson announced plans to further relax lockdown rules, including social gatherings and the opening of non-essential shops.

Thousands of high street shops, department stores and shopping centres in the UK will reopen on June 15.

Outdoor markets and car showrooms can reopen as soon as they are able to meet the coronavirus secure guidelines from June 1.

And good news for Brits as the warm weather is set to continue with a 28C heatwave.
